How to Inflate Your Paddle Board

So, you just bought an inflatable paddle board (or are dreaming of getting one), but you’re still unsure about the best way to inflate it? Or you already have a board, but you'd love some tips on how to speed the process up?

You'll need: 

Taiga board - Paddle board, pump, muscle

We hear ya! To help you out, we've also prepared a short video that takes you through a complete step-by-step process of inflating your board.

Step 1

Unroll your inflatable paddle board. Assemble the pump making sure that the hose is thightly secured.

Step 2

Verify that the valve is in the upright position. If it isn't, lightly press on it and twist for it to pop up.

Step 3

Connect the pump to the board's valve and secure it by twisting it clockwise.

Step 4

Adjust the setting on the pump on the n.2 setting and start pumping. The goal is to get to at least 15 PSI. This should take between 10 and 15 minutes.

Step 5

Once you start feeling some resistance, switch the setting on the pump to n.1.

See this step as an upper-body warm-up before getting into the water!

We recommend inflating the paddle board to at least 15PSI, and no more than 18 PSI.

Step 6

Once you’ve reached 15 PSI, disconnect the pump from the board and secure the valve with it’s cap.

Step 7 

Now that your board is ready to go, all that’s left to do before getting on the water is:

Secure your leash to the board

Adjust your paddle 

Put on your PFD (Personal Flotation Device)

To skip the arm workout and to speed up the process, you can also use an electric pump that plugs into the 12V socket of your vehicle.
