Describe yourself in a few sentences.
I am sporty, ambitious and eager to perform in anything I take on. With an ever-present smile, I like to diversify my interests and am always ready for an adventure. One of my biggest strengths is my sense of leadership. I have the tendency to encourage and inspire others, motivating them as much as I motivate myself. I throw myself into team sports and activities, all while learning about myself at the same time.
When you are not on the water, what do you like to do?
My nose buried in my schoolbooks at Cegep, where I study full-time. I am the head of an association at my Cegep and I also volunteer at the student café. In addition, I am a coach for my school’s running club and I work in one of my dad’s art galleries. If not, I enjoy running, skateboarding, skiing, hiking, playing Frisbee… and vacationing!
What is your favorite paddleboard spot?
For SUP wave, since I am as tall as a Christmas elf: Long Sands Beach (York) is my second home. A beach extending over a kilometer, an abundance of surfers and, most importantly, that old school, California vibe. For training in calm waters, it would be at my cottage in Beauport Lake. My little haven a few minutes from the city where everyone likes to move 12 months a year.
What is your preferred Taiga Board?
During SUP surf road trips along the East Coast, I ride with my El Limon 7’8. I love its maneuverability, its fast response and its length that allows me to dish out several tricks with confidence. The El Limon adapts well to the different types of waves and is great traveling through breaks. In Quebec, I use my Race 12’6 with my All Carbon paddle, cut according to my height. I am therefore able to push my limits.
If you could choose your dream spot to practice SUP, where would it be?
Going to Japan to paddleboard has always been my dream. There are just as many magnificent spots resembling Fiji for those who enjoy calmer waters, as there are regions like Kanto, Shikoku, Okinawa, and Kansai, where the conditions for SUP surf are extraordinary. On another note, I think that my interest goes beyond simply paddleboarding and lies mostly in the mentality of this country, the cleanliness, and beauty of its regions.
