Who is Lizz from the TAIGA TRIBE?

After more than 9 years developing my marketing skills in the food industry, I eventually realized that i wanted to transfer my lifesyle skills into my career!

Passionate about project management and the outdoors, I combined these two with the discovery of SUP which soon became a passion of mine. How could I not froth over TAIGA and all the vibes that comes with it?

I love to run, plan and structure projects because I'm a bit of a marketing guru... but, I love to work in a team (much more efficient to deliver projects on time)!

I have a team spirit that loves to laugh (I'm a great audience); I love to enjoy life.

When you don’t have both feet in the water, what do you do?

I’m a Mom of a very athletic 11 year old boy and during my free time, I’m out discovering new hikes, paddleboarding, snowboarding, road and mountain biking, and spending hours at the arena … basically anything that keeps me in good shape!

I’m always up for an activity that involves the outdoors, especially when i ahve to overcome a challenge! I hope to be able to incorporate more sup into my life and maybe even try wakesrufing and surfing.

I have to admit that I'm always up for an activity that involves the outdoors, especially when I'm facing a challenge. I hope to be able to incorporate more SUP and even try wakesurfing and surfing... It’s an important aspect at TAIGA!

What is your favorite spot (on the water, obviously) and why?

I love 31 Mile Lake, but really, all lakes in general, especially when I’m with good company. The calm waters and wide open spaces allow me to unwind and relax when I'm paddle boarding.

Your go-to TAIGA board(s) and why?

I love the Akoya ROOT Collection the most, its wood veneer makes it quite unique. This board allows me to enjoy my time on the water as well as offer a challenge!

If you had to choose one ‘’dream spot’’ to go and enjoy your board, where would it be and why?

I hope to one day travel throughout New Zealand and surely, they have plenty of beautiful spots to visit.

If you had one piece of advice to give to a rookie who doesn't know the wonderful world of water sports yet, what would it be?

If you want to maximize your purchase, I recommend taking a beginners course! The three hours spent learning is totally worth the time, especially when those hours spent not only refining your skills, but also being out on the water.
