Caroline Lemieux

Who is Caro from the TAIGA club?

I’m a mother of two beautiful boys and a biochemist by training. I've participated in many research projects over the years. The field of biochemistry is complex and a healthy balance between work and family has never been easy to find.

The warehouse management position is perfect for me as it allows me to be with my family and explore a new field.

My role is to help in the warehouse by applying the management skills that I acquired in the lab. The TAIGA club and I share similar values: quality, expertise and a passion for things well done. This is what inspired me to join the team and ride the wave with them!

When you don’t have both feet in the water, what do you do?

When I'm not on the water, I spend time with my family and take care of my kids. When the weather is nice, you can find us outside playing, biking, gardening, etc. We like to stay active!

What is your favorite spot (on the water, obviously) and why?

2021 is the year I try paddle boarding! I would love to go to Gaspésie and explore the Bonaventure River. I have heard that the water is so clear that you can see the fish in action. I will have to learn quickly though as the rapids can make quite some waves!

Your go-to TAIGA board(s) and why?

I have a soft spot for the Thuya. It is big and stable, and it will be perfect for exploring the different waterways of Quebec. It will also allow me to ride with my kidsthey just love going on adventures with their mama!

If you could choose one ‘dream destination’ for paddleboarding, where would it be and why?

I would go to Johnson Lake, a beautiful lake of turquoise waters and white sand nestled in the heart of the mountains and forests of Kamloops, British Columbia. This scenery - a blend of Caribbean waters and Canadian landscape must be just breathtaking.

If you had one piece of advice to give to a rookie who doesn't know the wonderful world of water sports yet, what would it be?

Chat with Coco, she's the best! I definitely will!
