Dominic Faucher
Who is Dom from the TAIGA club?
My name is Dominic Faucher. I am 31 years old, measure 185 centimeters and weigh 190 pounds. My hair is disorganized and I put Sriracha on just about everything. I show up late to important meetings and cheated on my high school Tap speed test. I love Taco Bell.
When you don’t have both feet in the water, what do you do?
I am a freelance content creator, specifically in the tourism and adventure industry. I own a project called Vanlife Sagas: one of the 788 vanlife Instagram accounts in Quebec. I offer tips, tricks, advice and good jokes to do on the road.
What is your favorite spot (on the water, obviously) and why?
Paddling on the lakes in the West is awesome. Unlike in Quebec, you can see the bottom and you know if there is something that will catch your feet when you fall. The only drawback is that the water is frozen and some things get smaller when the water is frozen.
Your go-to TAIGA board(s) and why?
Akoya 9'5 Root Collection since 2020.
If you had to choose one ‘’dream spot’’ to go and enjoy your board, where would it be and why?
The most beautiful spot where we have practiced SUP was in Antelope Canyon in the US. I think that if I could paddleboard every day, it would be in that region. It is pretty intense to paddle through canyons measuring 200-300 feet high, amongst the Americans partying on their wakeboard boats who think of you as a bit of a wuss with your board and paddle. Regardless, we actually end up becoming friends with them every time.
If you had one piece of advice to give to a rookie who doesn't know the wonderful world of water sports yet, what would it be?
That even though Costco paddle boards look like paddle boards, they are not paddle boards.
